- A type of scissors used to quickly and safely cut through strong materials such as rugs and boots in which a horse may become tangled; also useful for cutting thicker bandaging materials needed in equine wound/injury management
- Consist of a plastic handle with a metal blade, which is bent at about 150 degrees, giving an unusual appearance compared to normal scissors, and also a longer “lever arm”. The wide, blunt tip on the shears is designed to slide across skin, minimizing the risk of injuring the horse while cutting bandages etc.
- Designed exclusively for external use only and are not suitable for use on tissue/wounds.
